Ethanol Conversions

Most tanks need cleaning before ethanol is introduced into a tank.

Water can and will cause "phase separation".

Dirty tanks will become more dirty with the cleaning actions of ethanol. Dirty/rusty tanks will clog filters and even reach your customer's tanks.

Even when proper cleaning is performed, a tank may require additional cleaning after ethanol is introduced due to the cleaning action of the ethanol.

In preparation for ethanol, it is imperative that all caps are in top condition and spill wells are cleaned. Water should never be allowed to stand above cap level.

Massive amounts of water will cause phase separation. For information on phase separation, read section on " Phase separation" on this site.

Special filters are offered for ethanol. Discuss filters and when to change them with an Atlantic Clean Fuel representative.
